Trump 12 Points More Popular Now Than in 2017

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Donald Trump is 12 points more popular today than he was at the same point in his first term.

In the RCP average, Trump’s approval rating is currently at -3. This includes several polls that haven’t historically been very accurate. On this same day eight years ago, during Trump’s first term, his approval rating stood at -15.
Now, we at the Right-Wing Populist don’t really believe Trump’s approval is actually negative—but we do believe he is far more popular than he was during his first term.
Trump’s first term was filled with a lot more manufactured “chaos,” whereas his second term has been running much more smoothly. He hasn’t had to deal with a fake Russia investigation, and the media has become so discredited that their negative stories about Trump just don’t land the same way they used to.
Even The New York Times acknowledged today that among voters who do not follow the mainstream media, Trump enjoys some of his strongest support when it comes to job performance.

With the economy looking stronger, new trade deals being agreed to, and Trump appearing to move closer to peace deals around the world, we expect his approval rating to continue rising—and potentially surpass the levels he saw through most of his first term.
It should be noted that us at the Right-Wing Populist would suggest you ignore most of the polling that doesn’t come from either Richard Baris, Trafalgar, Qantas insights, Emerson, College, & Rasmussen, with very few exceptions.
Those individuals and polling groups have showed the ability to poll Trump accurately, while the larger polling community generally speaking has not.
