Mike Waltz Out as Trump’s National Security Advisor

It’s been reported by multiple news outlets that Mike Waltz will be stepping down from his role as National Security Advisor to President Trump. The news broke early Friday morning when Mark Halperin first reported it on his morning show 2-Way, stating that Waltz was out.

Waltz came under scrutiny after mistakenly adding Atlantic journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat discussing sensitive information about a potential military strike. While the mainstream media jumped on the story as a way to target Pete Hegseth and push him out of the administration, it now appears that the real casualty will be Mike Waltz.

We at The Right-Wing Populist are pleased with the news. Mike Waltz is a neocon who supported the Iraq War and worked for Dick Cheney. He never should have been in the administration to begin with.

Now, the real question is: who will replace him? On his show today, Halperin suggested that one possibility is Steve Witkoff, a longtime friend of Trump and a current special envoy. However, those details have yet to be confirmed.

Whoever takes over, it must not be another neocon with a history of supporting endless intervention in the Middle East. The next National Security Advisor should be someone who backs Trump’s doctrine of “peace through strength” and believes in using the military only when absolutely necessary.
