HYPOCRITE: Tapper Tries to Re-Write History with New Book
“The White House was LYING not only to the press, not only to the public, but they were lying to their own cabinet. They were lying to White House staffers, they were lying to Democrats in Congress about how bad things had gotten.”
That’s what Jake Tapper had to say this morning when asked about the apparent Biden cover-up.
Tapper, along with Axios’s Alex Thompson, is promoting their new book, Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, about the cover-up of Joe Biden’s decline, which is set to be released later this month.
Excerpts from the book have already been released, and many of them are damning.
“Biden’s physical deterioration — most apparent in his halting walk — had become so severe that there were internal discussions about putting the president in a wheelchair, but they couldn’t do so until after the election.”
“Given Biden’s age, [his physician Kevin O’Connor] also privately said that if he had another bad fall, a wheelchair might be necessary for what could be a difficult recovery,” Tapper and Thompson wrote.
“They tried to figure out shorter walking paths, began insisting on handrails for steps up to the stage at his appearances, had him wear sneakers more often, changed his visual briefings before events to ensure he knew every step he was expected to take, and guided him more carefully through the movements.”
One of Kamala Harris’s campaign members, David Plouffe—of Obama-era fame—viciously attacked Biden in the book:
“Trying to defeat Donald Trump in just 107 days was a fucking nightmare,” Plouffe said.
“And it’s all Biden,” he added. “He totally fucked us.”
It’s good to see these details finally coming out, but it should be noted that Jake Tapper was fully complicit in the Biden cover-up—at least until it became politically inconvenient for the Democratic Party.
Tapper famously criticized Laura Trump in 2020 for making fun of Biden’s stutter and completely dismissed any claims of cognitive decline at the time:
“I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline,” Tapper said.
Even as recently as early 2024, Tapper attacked the Wall Street Journal for running a very soft piece about Biden slipping, quoting a White House communications director as saying:
“Complete and utter editorial fail” that “makes you wonder who [the Journal is] taking orders from.”
Tapper’s co-writer, Alex Thompson, did raise questions about Biden’s cognitive ability during his presidency, but he never pushed as far as he could have.
The point is this: even though the knives are out for Biden now, make no mistake. The only reason the Democratic Party and the media have turned on him is because they believe he’s the reason Donald Trump became president again.
Had it still been in their interest to pretend Biden was fine, they would have continued gaslighting you every single day
